According to the Ontario Education System, every student needs to have 30 credits (including 18 compulsory credits) in order to graduate from a Canadian high school and receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D).
Once the student graduates from the high school, has an O.S.S.D and finishes 6 pre-university credits, the student may then apply to any universities in Ontario through Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), or to Ontario colleges through Ontario College Application Services (OCAS). They can also apply to any university or college in Canada, the United States and other parts of the world.
Overseas students could be granted up to maximum 24 equivalent credits by the school Principal or Guidance Department based on their academic achievements in their home countries.
