I was really impressed when I first started at St. George Academy. I was attending a public high school in Toronto before, but the classes were too big for me to get a lot of teacher help. Right now I am taking my final four credits to graduate, and I will be attending university in September. The teachers and staff seem to be doing great work and are supportive of me.
The class sizes are small, and this helps to build positive relationships between staff and students. St. George has well equipped facilities, which helps to make learning easier. There is always a computer with high-speed internet access available when I need one.
St. George also offers many events for students, such as skiing and going to musicals. We also have interesting field trips for our classes, especially for History. My teachers have taken us on tours of some historical buildings downtown, of the University of Toronto campus and Casa Loma. All of these events are always enjoyable.
I am currently attending two schools, St. George Academy in the afternoon and a public high school in the TDSB in the morning. I attend St. George in the afternoon to upgrade my Biology and Calculus marks. In the first week I noticed a difference between the schools.
St. George allows students to be more independent in their learning. The smaller class sizes allow more one on one with the teachers. The class sizes were the biggest change from a public school. I m glad I took my pre-requisites for university at St. George. I got the marks I needed, but I also feel like I truly understand the concepts and I know I ll be able to perform well in the subjects when I attend university in September.
I graduated from a high school in Ottawa last year but I am currently attending St. George Academy to upgrade my marks for University in September. One of the differences between St. George and other schools is the much smaller class sizes here, which is what I like about the school more than anything else.
The smaller class sizes make it much easier for students to get to know each other and also to get along with each other. It s only been a couple of months since I came here but my classmates are now my best friends here in Toronto.
Another thing I like about the school is that there are really good teachers here. I m not just saying it, but really mean it. The teachers are easy to get along with and most importantly, they know how to teach.
St. George Academy has given me great opportunities. The classes here have really helped me expand my knowledge of English. I had a plan to go to a college in Toronto, but I found it hard to prepare for all the requirements for college on my own. I also found it hard to get information about college programs and entrance requirements. However, while attending St. George Academy, preparing for College has been easy. The teachers at St. George Academy gave me lots of extra help to prepare myself for university, and I have been accepted into college for this September!
I started taking the grade 12 University Data Management course at St. George Academy in February 2004 because I needed one more credit to graduate. I chose this school because I liked the idea of the small class sizes and the staff seemed very friendly. When I started my classes I was not at all disappointed. My teacher is great; she explains all the concepts thoroughly and spends a lot of time with the students one on one to ensure that we understand everything and achieve our maximum potential.
