Excellence in teaching is the cornerstone of St. George Academy. Our teachers are caring professionals who are committed to creating an atmosphere in which students can become independent learners, acquire skills for future employment, enjoy the pursuit of academic excellence and participate in extra-curricular activities. We feature small classes with a challenging, friendly environment, and our classroom work is supported by excellent facilities.
St. George Academy is a safe school where all students are known and cared for by staff. Our guidance counselors promote post-secondary academic planning for university and colleges, good study habits, provide career exploration and assist with goal setting for all students. St. George Academy provides small classes to ensure that all students receive a great deal of individualized teacher attention.
St. George Academy also provides an after school program for students to acquire one high school credit per semester while still attending another school full time. These students find that the concentrated teacher-student class time at St. George Academy allows them to achieve high grades for university entrance. Upon completion, these credits are then transferred to students’ transcripts at their home schools.
At St. George Academy High School, we offer a variety of programs that help you achieve your educational goals, whatever they may be.
- UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE
St. George counselors assist with university and college applications St. George has links to many universities and colleges
- HIGHSCHOOL COURSES
St. George Academy offers high school credits towards Ontario diploma requirements
- PART-TIME & INTENSIVE COURSES
Many of our students are enrolled full-time in another school and take one or two credits in our after-school program. They have found that large classes and overworked teachers in their home school cause their marks to suffer in their weaker subjects.
- ACHIEVING SUCCESS
Choose up to four credits each semester Intensive study program allows you to complete 1.5 academic years in one year
St. George Academy organizes a variety of fun activities throughout the year. You will have an opportunity to watch a Blue Jays baseball game at the Rogers Centre, and visit the C.N Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Zoo, Canada’s Wonderland, The Ontario Science Centre and Toronto’s famous castle, Casa Loma. You can have a picnic in High Park and take a cruise to the Toronto Islands and participate in sports activities such as ice-skating, skiing, hockey and soccer, just to name a few.
These are planned with our Student Services Coordinator. They give the students an opportunity to explore Canada and learn firsthand about Canadian culture. Enjoy a trip to Niagara Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world, an exciting camping and a canoeing trip in the pristine wilderness of Algonquin Park, a trip to the Kawartha lakes to visit Petroglyph and Serpent Mound Provincial parks and the Canadian Canoe Museum, a trip to the African Lion Safari, and trips to Montreal, Quebec City and Ottawa, three other great Canadian cities.
